Locations: South Bucks, Windsor & East Berkshire, South Wiltshire, Cornwall, Plymouth, Torbay, North Devon, South & East Somerset, Northumberland, Sunderland, Durham, Tunbridge Wells, Cwm Taf

The MND Association has over 90 branches and groups across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, all run entirely by volunteers who work together in many different ways to provide support, raise awareness, influence, and fundraise at a local level.

We are looking for someone to work with, and provide support to the branch/group, to organise and facilitate regular “Afternoon tea” support meetings for people with MND, their families and carers in the area.

Role Description

What does this role involve?

Please note: these are examples of the main tasks that can be associated with this role.  Tasks may vary according to the focus of the branch and locations may change depending on the needs of people with MND, their families and carers.

  • To work with the Branch Secretary to arrange meeting dates and secure venues
  •  If appropriate liaise with venues to confirm arrangements
  • To provide a warm welcome at each meeting
  • To abide by the Association’s policies and guidance on data protection, health and safety, confidentiality and safeguarding
  • To take part in branch or Association training and attend meetings as required

Ideal Skills

This role would suit someone who has good administrative and organisational skills. I.T skills would also be an advantage,as would the ability to encourage and support people to participate.

Other information

We are looking for someone that can give approximately 4 hours per month to attend the meetings together with an additional 2-3 hours per month planning time.

Full training and induction will be provided and travel expenses will be reimbursed.
