Trust & Grants Fundraiser - CORNWALL

We are looking for someone to research and apply to local trust & grants organisations to help raise funds to support people living with and affected by MND in the county of Cornwall

Country
England
County
Devon

The MND Association was founded in 1979. Our mission is to improve care and support for people with MND, their families and carers. We also fund and promote research that leads to new understanding and treatments and brings us closer to a cure for MND. The Association also campaigns and raises awareness so the needs of people with MND, and everyone who cares for them, are recognised, and addressed by wider society.

“Whether you want to get involved in caring, fundraising, awareness raising or campaigning, you won’t fail to be uplifted by this community. And you will soon find yourself making a difference, even if it’s just in small steps. Every step is pushing us towards better care and the ultimate goal, a cure.” David, Volunteer

What’s involved?

  • Research local trust & grant organisations and match their criteria with our needs
  • Complete agreed applications and submit
  • Compile necessary reports for these organisations on how their support has made a difference
  • Build relationships with these local organisations and ensure they are aware of the Association’s work in their area and how they could support this

This role will suit me if I:

  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to recognise the potential opportunities for funding
  • Am able to act in an impartial way
  • Have a warm, friendly and empathetic manner
  • Have an understanding of MND and its impact on families, or a willingness to learn

What’s in it for me?

  • Become part of a friendly and dedicated team
  • Get support from regional and national staff
  • Get access to a range of workshops and events

How flexible is the role?

The role is very flexible and depending on various deadlines with applications the average volunteering per week would be approx. 2-3 hours and it would be beneficial if you are able to attend some branch or group committee meetings to update them on your activity. This could be virtual attendance rather than face to face

What sort of training/induction will I receive before starting?

You’ll be inducted into the role and informed about the Association. As part of this, you will receive e-learning, and mentoring. The training programme will also include experiential and reflective learning.
