Group Admin (Birmingham & Solihull)

We are looking for a Group Admin to provide administration support to the Group Lead, to attend meetings and take minutes, circulating to those required, in conjunction with the Group Lead.

The MND Association was founded in 1979. Our mission is to improve care and support for people with MND, their families and carers. We also fund and promote research that leads to new understanding and treatments and brings us closer to a cure for MND. The Association also campaigns and raises awareness so the needs of people with MND, and everyone who cares for them, are recognised, and addressed by wider society.

What’s involved: 

  • Prior to meetings discuss with the Group Lead requirements for the meeting and prepare the agenda
  • To circulate the agenda, any relevant documentation required for the meeting and previous minutes to all on management committee and guests
  • To attend meetings, take notes recording key points and actions including agreed by whom and ensure that all decisions and proposals are included
  • Following meetings write up and circulate the minutes with appropriate information/documentation to group members and regional staff

  • have effective written and oral communication skills
  • have accurate and reliable administrative skills
  • Computer skills would be an advantage

How flexible is the role?

Group Secretaries will work for approximately 2-3 hours a week and attend on average 4 meetings a year.

What sort of training/induction will I receive before starting?

You’ll be inducted into the role and informed about the Association. As part of this, you will receive e-learning, face-to-face training and mentoring.
