Group Correspondent (Volunteer) - EXETER

We are looking for a Group Correspondent to provide secretarial support to the Group organisers and to be responsible for effective communications within the Group.

The MND Association was founded in 1979. Our mission is to improve care and support for people with MND, their families and carers. We also fund and promote research that leads to new understanding and treatments and brings us closer to a cure for MND. The Association also campaigns and raises awareness so the needs of people with MND, and everyone who cares for them, are recognised, and addressed by wider society.

What’s involved?

  • Group Correspondents assist with planning and organising branch/group meetings e.g. prepare meeting agendas, book meeting venues
  • Ensure accurate minutes are taken and circulated
  • Receive and respond to group correspondence
  • File and store group documentation appropriately

This role will suit me if I:

  • Have good organisational and administrative skills
  • Have effective written and oral communication skills
  • Have basic computer skills and access to a computer

How flexible is the role?

Group Correspondents will work for approximately 2-3 hours a week and attend on average 4 meetings a year.

What sort of training/induction will I receive before starting?

You’ll be inducted into the role and informed about the Association. As part of this, you may receive e-learning, face-to-face training and mentoring depending on the role. The training programme may also include experiential and reflective learning.
